Fifty-odd nomads met each other in Fukuoka, in the autumn of 2023.

This October, it happens again — ten days.

Last year drew close to 500 people, from 57 countries.

And this year, Colive Fukuoka co-founder Ryo Osera changed the theme.

Not freedom. Not movement. Ikigai — a reason for being, the thing that makes you willing to get up in the morning.

Tonight is about why. And why now.

Ryo co-founded Asia's largest digital nomad festival. Before that he was in marketing at Dentsu, Japan's largest advertising agency. From 2015 to 2018 he served as supervisor of social marketing by appointment of the Prime Minister of Japan — when the government needed to tell its own citizens something that mattered, he was the one designing how to say it. In 2019 he co-founded HafH, a travel subscription platform. Today he is CEO of yugyo inc., an Associate Professor at The Frontier Institute of Tourism Sciences, Kanazawa University, and an Executive Officer of the Japan Digital Nomad Association.

He isn't just someone who runs events —

Asia's nomad community, and the world's, look different because of him.

✨ How the evening actually runs

🖐 20:00–20:10 (GMT+8) · Opening & interactive warm-up

We don't open with slides. We open with you. A few questions appear on screen and you answer them live — where you're joining from, why you clicked in tonight, and one that puts you on the line we'll walk all evening: are you still chasing freedom, or have you started thinking about the reason? Then Harry introduces Ryo.

🎙 20:10–20:35 (GMT+8) · Ryo × Harry in conversation — the view from inside the nomad world

Two people who started building nomad communities at about the same time, laying the same road side by side to see how far each has walked it. Three threads: how Colive Fukuoka grew into what it is; how Ryo's own thinking shifted; and why this year, why ikigai.

🇯🇵 20:35–20:50 (GMT+8) · Colive Fukuoka 2026

What those ten days in October actually look like — how ikigai lands inside the programme, plus the practical part: dates, ticket types, cost, how to register, when early bird closes. Including the questions people have but don't always ask out loud: what day one looks like if you're coming alone, and what to do if you don't speak Japanese.

💬 20:50–21:10 (GMT+8) · Q & A

Fukuoka in October; the questions of people still chasing freedom; the questions of people already thinking about the reason — all of it is fair game.

📍 Two things worth knowing

· The recording goes only to people who registered. So even if Thursday night doesn't work for you, register anyway — you'll still get the content.

· The Q&A only happens live. If you want your question answered, be there on the night.

🗣 About language

The session runs in English from start to finish, with no live interpretation. Between segments the host will pull the key points together in Chinese for the Taiwanese audience — a short recap each time, not a running translation. The recording sent to registrants afterwards carries Chinese subtitles.
